
Christmas Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- Decorative sprinkles or icing for decoration
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well blended.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until fully incorporated.
- Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness and cut out shapes with cookie cutters.
- Place cookies on prepared baking sheets and decorate with sprinkles or icing as desired.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
