
Portuguese Custard Tarts
Delicious and creamy Portuguese custard tarts, a traditional dessert from Portugal.

Ingredients
- 500g puff pastry
- 500ml whole milk
- 200g sugar
- 6 egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cinnamon stick
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (430°F).
- In a saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon stick. Heat until almost boiling, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Slowly pour the warm milk mixture into the egg yolks, stirring constantly.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut into circles to fit a muffin tin.
- Place the pastry circles into the muffin tin, pressing gently to form a shell.
- Fill each pastry shell with the custard mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden and the custard is set.
