Thanksgiving Turkey Feast

A traditional Thanksgiving dinner featuring a succulent roasted turkey with all the classic sides.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey, giblets removed
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon dried sage
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the butter, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and carefully loosen the skin. Rub the butter mixture under the skin and over the top of the turkey.
  4. Stuff the cavity of the turkey with the onions and garlic.
  5. Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan.
  6. Cover the turkey with foil and roast for 3-4 hours, basting occasionally.
  7. Remove the foil and continue roasting until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Let the turkey rest before carving and serving.
