Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (12-14 lbs)
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons dried rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. Mix together the softened butter, dried thyme, dried rosemary, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to create a herb butter mixture.
  3. Rub the herb butter mixture all over the turkey, making sure to coat it evenly.
  4. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover it with foil.
  5. Roast the turkey for approximately 3 hours, removing the foil during the last hour to allow the skin to crisp up.
  6. Once the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 165°F, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.
